Welcome Message

Dear Members and colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to welcome all of you to the 49th Annual scientific meeting of Hong Kong Society of Haematology (HKSH). The treatment for various haematological diseases is rapidly evolving in the past 50 years. This year is the 50th anniversary of HKSH. Over the years, the annual scientific meeting of HKSH has become the largest haematology meeting in Hong Kong.

This year we change it to the virtual meeting because of COVID-19. Despite that, the organizing committee has complied a programme consisting of a variety of haematological topics such as acute myeloid leukaemia, lymphoma, CAR-T therapy, multiple myeloma, chronic myeloid leukaemia, thalassemia, and paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria. We are honoured to have distinguished international speakers to share the updated information of the management of the diseases and their experiences with us.

The new fellows will present the findings of their dissertations in the New Fellow presentation session of the meeting. The Hong Kong Haematology Nursing Association also supports the event and representative from the association will give a talk on “Nursing care management of patients with acute myeloid leukaemia” in the meeting.

I would like to thank the organizing committee, speakers, sponsors, Hong Kong Haematology Nursing Association and event organizer for their support and contribution to make the meeting a success. I look forward to seeing you in the meeting, and hope you will enjoy the meeting and the inspiring presentations.

Dr Man-Fai LAW
Chairman of Hong Kong Society of Haematology
